We're excited to announce the upcoming transition to DCash 2.0, a more advanced and user-friendly version of our digital currency service. The DCash Pilot platform operations were brought to a close on 12th January 2024. All pilot participants may either cash out (for value-based wallets) or have their linked bank accounts credited for their DCash wallet balances (for registered-based and merchant wallets) post-closure date.
Even after January 12th, 2024, wallet holders can redeem their balances by visiting their assigned Financial Institution.
Registered-based and merchant wallet holders will be credited DCash balances.
The ECCB will contact value-based wallet holders with instructions on withdrawing the funds from their DCash wallets.
Information on the DCash Pilot closure can be accessed via the ECCB and DCash websites, as well as DCash social media platforms.
Individuals who are unable to cash out at the designated agent should contact the DCash Team at DCashSupport@eccb-centralbank.org for additional support. Please be assured that all necessary support will be provided to complete your exit from the DCash platform.
Once your DCash redemption has been completed the current DCash app can be deleted from your device.
For merchant-based wallet holders, no further action is needed at this time. Your financial institution will advise you upon completion of the credit to your account.
For registered-based wallet holders, no further action is needed at this time. Your financial institution will advise you upon completion of the credit to your account.
Value-based wallet holders should contact the designated agent for their country of residence to redeem their DCash funds.

The DCash Pilot, which commenced on 31 March 2021, has provided crucial information for further innovation and the transition to DCash 2.0. This version is expected to be a more advanced and user-friendly iteration, enhancing utility for customers, developers, businesses, and financial institutions. DCash 2.0 is anticipated to be launched in the next 18 to 24 months.
